Jbs Proud to be 100% Energy Self-Sufficient

Jbs is now 100% energy self-sufficient – generating enough renewable energy to power its operations and send excess back to the grid.

Its latest step on the sustainability journey is the installation of electric chargers at its Peterhead HQ.

Over the past year Jbs has:

🔶 Installed 194 solar panels producing 50kW of renewable energy

🔶 Upgraded to high-efficiency LED lighting

🔶 Modernised its fleet, plant and equipment to cut emissions

The Jbs management team now all drive hybrid or electric vehicles. The on-site electric chargers were delivered by sister company AM Campbell (UK) Ltd – electrical contractors.

Jbs Sales and Marketing Director, Jo McIntosh, said:

“Our mission here at Jbs is clear: to reduce our footprint, improve efficiency and continue progress on our sustainability journey. The 100% energy self-sufficiency achievement is the result of sustained investment in greener ways of working.”

The business is also part of Scottish Enterprise’s Net Zero Academy, alongside 15 other north-east Scotland firms embedding environmental practices across their operations.
